SOUTHEAST CONSTRUCTION - MAY 2005
U.S. 64 between Wendell and Raleigh is a heavily-congested commuter route and a primary east-west highway that carries between 45,000 to 65,000 vehicles per day. A new route, known as Knightdale Bypass, will allow traffic around Knightdale, reducing travel time by as much as 30 minutes along with relieving congestion on U.S. 64 through the town of Knightdale. Knightdale Bypass, Raleigh, N.C. is ranked No. 6 on the Top Highway listing throughout the Southeast. OLH Inc. was involved with the scheduling and cost estimating of this design-build project of 9.6 miles of new six-lane freeway, including 23 bridges.
